OVER MOUNT EVEREST

ANOTHER TRIUMPH FOR THE PEGASUS
The first flights over Mt Everest were carried out by the Houston Everest Expedition using two Westland Aircraft fitted with Bristol Pegasus engines "splendid engines " they are described by Air Commodore Fellowes on behalf of the members of the Expedition.

It was with a "Bristol" Pegasus engine fitted in a Vickers aircraft that the world's altitude record of 43,976 feet was established in September last.
