Rolls Royce Tyne Aviation Ad 1959

ROLLS-ROYCE TYNE PROP-JETS power the VICKERS VANGUARD

VANGUARDS HAVE BEEN ORDERED BY BRITISH EUROPEAN AIRWAYS AND TRANS-CANADA AIR LINES.

The Tyne is an advanced twin spool high compression engine due to enter service in 1960 at ratings of 4,985, 5,525 and 5,730 e.h.p. It has been designed to give a very Iow specific fuel consumption and is backed by the unique experience gained by RoIIs-Royce in more than 6,000,000 hours operation of gas turbine engines in scheduled airline service.

The Tyne will also power the Canadair CL-44D long range transport developed from the Bristol Britannia for Canadian requirements. It has been ordered by the Royal Canadian Air Force.
