In the 'VANGUARD of a new jet-prop era
With the Vickers Vanguard airliner, BEA will soon be opening a new chapter in
the history of propeller turbine flight.
Like every Viscount built, this big advanced jet-prop will be equipped with a
variety of Smiths instruments. These will include the internationally famous
Smiths Flight System and Autopilot. The Vanguard is a Vickers/Rolls-Royce
enterprise representing yet another notable achievement for Britain's aircraft
industry in which Smiths' instruments have been chosen to play a vital part.
