| Opened as a airfield in the late 1930`s the RAF moved into here in 1942 and Coastal Command carried out patrols into the Atlantic. It became an airport after the war with the RAF moving back into a small section of the airfield in the late 1950`s and it is now used as a manned radar station | ||
