| Built as a bomber base in 1937 it continued in this role until the end of the war as a major bomber command airfield. Transferred to fighter command it was until 1957 it was home to Sqn`s flying Meteors, Sabres and Hunters. From 1958 it was to become a training station and continues in this role today flying Tucano aircraft. | ||
