| Constructed in 1942 Ongar was open for buisness in 1943 with medium bomber units moving in. Ops continued until 1944 when the USAAF flying units moved nearer to the front lines after the invasion. Handed back to the RAF the base was used as a satellite to North Weald until 1959 when it was closed. | ||
