| Opened in 1940 as a fighter airfield bomber command took over in 1942 operating heavy bombers. It was transferred over to the USAAF in October 1943 and fighter units moved in.In 1945 it was transferred back to the RAF and used as a Polish resettlement camp until 1946 when the airfield was closed down and started a new life as part of an Army training ground. | ||
