| Built for the USAAF in 1942 the first units to move in arrived on the 19th June 1943. US heavy bomber units used the airfield until the end of the war. Handed back to the RAF in 1945 it was placed into care and used as a sub site for bomb storage until 1959 when it was abandoned and sold off. | ||
