| Built in 1941 and opened in 1942 USAAF transport and fighter groups used Keevil until 1944 when it was handed over to the RAF. Kept in reserve status the airfield was used every now and then by the USAAF for training purposes but finally closed in 1965. Keevil today is still very much intact and sometimes used for Army and RAF excercises. | ||
