| Built in 1941 for RAF bomber command it was expanded and transferred to the USAAF in 1942. Medium and heavy bomber groups used the field for ops until the end of the war when flying ceased in 1946. Kept on `standby` status it was finally vacated in the early 1960`s. | ||
