| Built in late 1940 90 Sqn RAF moved in and started ops over europe in B-17C bombers. From December 1942 Polebrook swapped its RAF B-17`s for USAAF ones as the airfield was transferred over to the americans. With the war over the airfield was handed back to the RAF on the 28th August 1945 and was placed into care. It was closed in 1948 with some parts sold off however 130 Sqn operated Thor missiles on the part that was retained by the RAF until August 1963 when all MOD land at the airfield was sold off for good. | ||
